Gerry's Big Band: Tradition and Innovation

Gerry's Big Band is a vibrant ensemble featuring 5 saxophones, 4 trombones, 4 trumpets, and a dynamic rhythm section, complemented by the collaboration of talented vocalists. The band performs original compositions by Gerry López, as well as a carefully curated repertoire that spans the tradition of swing and works by contemporary composers, bridging the legacy of jazz with its modern evolution.

No Way Back: Virtuosity and Energy

No Way Back is a Latin jazz quintet led by saxophonist Gerry López, joined by internationally renowned musicians: drummer Jay Kalo, percussionist Machito, pianist Miguel "Wiwi" García, and bassist David Rodríguez.

Praised by international media, this project is celebrated for its unmatched energy and dynamism. Their music is rich in nuances and fusions, paying tribute to the vibrant tradition of Cuban music and its influence throughout Latin America and the world.

Moreover, No Way Back has been nominated for a Latin Grammy in the Best Latin Jazz Album category, cementing its place as a global reference in the genre.

Día de Luz: Tradition and Innovation in Perfect Harmony

Día de Luz is an exceptional quartet featuring saxophonist Gerry López, acclaimed Italian pianist Yuri Storione, bassist Matteo Burci, and drummer Peter Primus Frosch.

In 2023, this project released an album that blends original compositions and arrangements with iconic pieces from the jazz tradition, creating a bridge between classic heritage and contemporary innovation. Día de Luz stands out for preserving the essence of jazz’s sound while incorporating modern elements of improvisation, delivering a musical experience that is both fresh and profound.
